Step 1 : How to Create A Jewelry Cleaner - Plastic Jars for Jewelry Cleaners

Posted by

Step 1 - Pick a Jar that Shows off your Jewelry Cleaner and Brand

Many Customers use our Plastic Jars and Plastic Caps with their own propriety Jewelry Baskets and Brushes, however, did you know that Parkway Plastics also offer a line of Plastic Jewelry Baskets that are compatible with the   4oz 70mm6oz 70mm, and 8oz 70mm plastic jars

To get you started, take a look at the different Jars you can choose from:

1. Regular-Wall (or Single Wall) Plastic Jars

Regular Wall jars are beautiful and cost effective. Thinner than thick wall jars, they are often referred to as single wall jars and are one of Parkway's most popular items. One of the signatures of the Regular Wall Jar Style is that the cap protrudes over the side of jar (it isn't flush with the side wall of the jar) which makes the cap stand out more. In the picture above you will notice that just under the cap you can see what appears to be a shadow line. This shadow line is actually a thin plastic ring that is there to help to keep the jar and cap combo from loosening up. This ring, which is referred to as a lip, is there to keep the side walls of the jars from bumping into each other during transit and display and to keep a tamper evident shrink band in place if you choose to use one. Tamper evident shrink bands are often used in the jewelry cleaning industry when packaging jewelry cleaning kits.

Regular-wall jars are a very popular choice amongst our customers who are creating their own jewelry cleaner lines. Because they're less expensive than our thick wall jars, and equally as beautiful, many customers prefer going with the regular wall jars. Customers also appreciate that these jars are stocked, have low minimums, and has the benefit of quick turnarounds for further decreasing customer costs and time to market.

All of our regular wall plastic jars are stocked in clear polystyrene (CSC), clarified natural polypropylene (PPC) and white polypropylene (PPW), with lead-times of only 1-2 days for products that are in stock. In addition, all of our jars and caps can be customized in any color (longer leadtimes, higher minimums, and setups would apply). It is important to note that not all materials are suitable for all uses so please make sure you initially test your products with Parkway's Packaging before placing your final order.

2. Thick-Wall Jars

For our high end customers, we understand that you need a jar that looks just as luxurious as the jewelry itself. Parkway's thick-wall jars have great cosmetic appeal. Durable with a thick base and a thick side, the smooth lines make this jar very appealing. Thick-wall jars have straight or rounded bottoms. The picture above shows what a straight bottom Thick Wall Jar looks like with a Smooth Cap. If you prefer the look of rounded corners, try a rounded bottom thick-wall jar with a domed cap, for that extra rounded look. You can view our 6 oz. 70 mm thick-wall round-bottom jar here.

If you want a glass-like thick-wall jar, we recommend going with polystyrene instead of PP (polypropylene). Beware: styrene is brittle and not suitable for all uses so make sure you test your product to ensure that your product is compatible. Parkway is not responsible for product compatibility.

3. Double-Wall Jars

Parkway offers an additional option if you're looking for jars with rounded corners: The double-wall jar. The difference between the Thick-Wall and the Double-Wall is that the Double-Wall Jar is lighter and a bit more fragile than the Thick-Wall Jar. Our double wall jars are stocked in white with polypropylene inners and polypropylene outers.

4. Blow Molded PET Jars

Parkway's blow-molded PET plastic jars are often used for food grade, manufactured with FDA approved materials. These jars tend to stand up to heavy fragrances and essential oils that sometimes can cause compatibility headaches. So, when it comes to fine jewelry cleaners that many times contain aqueous ammonia or other chemicals, Parkway's PET jar might be a good option. However, always test your product. PPI is not responsible for product compatibility. Again, not all materials are suitable for all applications.
