Establishing an UPS Account for your Slime Business

We’re often asked about freight and shipping costs—especially for smaller slime orders where shipping can make up a big part of the total expense. While we always work to find the most efficient shipping options available, some customers say that they prefer shipping on their own UPS or FedEx account.

If you already have a UPS or FedEx account, you’re welcome to provide us with your account number or shipping labels, and we’ll gladly apply them to your boxes and ship your order using your preferred carrier. This can be especially helpful if you’ve negotiated discounted rates or want more direct control over shipping charges and delivery options.

If you don’t yet have your own shipping account and aren’t sure where to start, don’t worry—it’s easier than you might think. In this post, we’ll walk through why having your own UPS (or FedEx) account can be beneficial for slime businesses, when it makes sense to use one, and how to get set up if you decide it’s the right move for you.

Option 1: Create a UPS Login (Username)
This gives you access to shipping, tracking, and discounts.
  1. Go to UPS Sign Up:
    https://www.ups.com/doapp/signup?loc=en_US [ups.com]
  2. Enter:
    • Name
    • Email address
    • Phone number
    • Create a username & password
  3. Verify your email when UPS sends the code
✅ At this point, you have a UPS online profile, but not yet a billing account.
Option 2: Open a Free UPS Shipping Account (Recommended for Business)
This is what you want if you’ll be shipping regularly, invoicing shipments, or want discounts.
  1. Start here:
    https://www.ups.com/us/en/business-solutions/open-an-account [ups.com]
  2. Log in with your UPS username (or create one if prompted)
  3. Choose Business
  4. Enter:
    • Company name & address
    • Shipping address
    • Payment method (credit card or invoice request)
  5. Complete identity verification
✅ UPS account numbers are free and come with:
  • Negotiated shipping discounts
  • Consolidated billing & statements
  • Scheduled pickups
  • Free UPS shipping supplies
