Frequently Asked Questions - FAQs Asked & Answered - Cosmetic & Craft Jars and Caps by Parkway Plastics

Q: "What jars and caps do you recommend for packaging sugar scrubs? Is there a difference between plastic materials when it comes to scrubs or are all materials created equal. My scrub is pretty liquidy and so I want to make sure that my jars and caps don't leak in transit. Are the jars and caps that you manufacture leak-proof or spill-proof? Any information that you could give me would be much appreciated"

A: Hi there! Thank you so much for you interest in Parkway Plastics' plastic jars and caps. Sugar scrub jars are our speciality. We manufacture some of the best sugar scrub jars in the industry. We have two plastic jars styles - potentially three that I would recommend for packaging your sugar scrubs.

The first jar style that I would recommend for packaging sugar scrubs is our regular wall jar style. This style is really clean looking and has a very modern, hip, borderline industrial appeal. It is frequently used by customers who are either 1. just starting out (because they are cheap and who doesn't love paying less for high quality plastic jars! ) or 2. They are looking for a super cool trendy, un-fussy looking plastic jar - brands that might identify with this type of hip utilitarian look would be brands like Keihl's and Anthropologie. Think urban chic! This is a single wall jar, with a thin(ner) straight wall, that is a beautiful and clean as it is functional.

The second style jar that I would recommend is our Thick Wall plastic jar style. The major difference between our Regular and Thick wall jars visually is that when you look at a thick wall jar the cap and the wall of the jar are flush with each other. In addition, our thick wall jars have a really nice weight to them conveying a sense of opulence and quality to the customer. Historically our thick wall jars have always been very popular with the high-end cosmetic companies that are looking to sell their products at a higher price point.

Q: " I am looking for plastic jars for storage. I want to buy some cheap plastic jars to use in my garage to organize nuts and bolts and other items like that - preferably something that I can hang on a peg board. Is that something you manufacture? What would you recommend that I use as hooks for this DIY home improvement project? Any help you can give me would be much appreciated!"

A. Hi Brook! Thank you so much for checking Parkway Plastics out! We manufacture plastic jars and caps in all different sizes. Are you looking for the jars and caps that you buy all to be uniform in size? If so what is the approx size (height and width) of the screws that you are looking to hold? If you are looking for a plastic jar that is about the same size as a traditional glass mason jar you may want to consider our 20 oz 89 mm plastic jar. This jar is very similar size to a mason jar and is very durable. If this size is too big for you we make a ton of other options. I would just need some more guidance with regards to size preference. Take a look at some of these links and let me know what you think. All of our jars could be hung from a traditional peg board by making a small hole in the side of the container with a drill and then using traditional peg board hangers that can be found at any craft, hobby or home improvement store like lowes, home depot, hobby lobby or michaels. It is a quick and easy Do-It-Yourself project that I am sure you will love and that will give you the beautiful and neatly organized results you are looking for. When you go to any of our product pages under the "Order Size" drop down option just choose samples for evaluation and you can buy in any order quantities that you desire. Just  be aware though that it is of course less expensive to buy in full case quantities. For your purposes I would imagine you are probably going to be looking at either the Clear Styrene (which is completely transparent - glass-like but is a little bit more brittle) or the Clarified Natural Polypro (translucent similar to tupperware - it's see through but not crystal clear but it much more durable than Clear Styrene).
