Parkway raises $1,700 in Support of the American Cancer Society and Breast Cancer Awareness
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This year, several Parkway Plastics employees decided to raise money for Breast Cancer Research and walk in the Edison "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" walk for the American Cancer Society.
The event that was held on October 9th, was met with heavy rain, but that didn't get the walkers down and Parkway's Team "MaryMen" successfully raised over $1,700 for breast cancer research.
Parkway's Team - the "Parkway MARYmen", was named after Parkway's owner and former Secretary-Treasurer Mary K. Rowan, wife of Ed Rowan, President of Parkway Plastics and mother of Kirstin Kelly, current Secretary-Treasurer and Ned Rowan, VP of Sales & Operations.
Mary Rowan was an amazing woman and friend who finally lost her life to breast cancer, after a 20 year long battle, on June 23, 2008. As we approach the 10 year anniversary of her death, we celebrate her life as an owner, a dedicated Parkway employee, loving mother and dear friend. If you would like to help us to continue to raise money in her name we ask that you click the link below to make a donation. All donations are 100% tax deductible and are for a very worthy cause. Let's help to abolish this terrible disease that has taken far to many of our loved ones!
