Container & Packaging for Candies and Confectioneries
Let's talk about candies, confectioneries and all the sweets that product developers and business owners put in Parkway's Small & Large Plastic Jars. Confectioneries are divided into two categories: baker's confections & sugar confections.
Confectioneries packaged in Jars, such as fudge or candies, can stand out in stores if packaged in the right Jar. When it comes to packaging sweets, there are two main things that you should be aware of this Halloween:
1. Freshness. When it comes to packing and storing sweet candies and confectioneries, it's important that the confectioneries retain its freshness for as long as possible. This can be done by storing sweets in recommended temperatures and complimenting the packaging with a liner to give the jar a good seal!
2. Life Span. Depending on the type of sweet food you are sourcing packaging for, confectioneries vary. Dark Chocolate have a life span of 1-2 years; whereas, Milk Chocolate can't be kept for more than 8- 10 months. If stored in a cool location and not opened, hard candies (like lollipops) and soft candies (like jelly beans) can be stored up to a year. However, candies like gum and candy corn will usually not last longer than 9 months {1}.
Like mentioned, retaining the freshness can sometimes be quite difficult. Candyusa.com says: "If the packaging has been opened, soft candies should be kept in a covered candy dish, away from heat and light at room temperature (about 70 degrees). Stored in this manner, the candy should last six to nine months. If the packaging has not been opened, soft sweets will last approximately 12 months." {1}
